A function of the soul to become at-one with the essense of anything within creation, so that whatever we are 'melded with' can be intimately KNOWN.
Minds can meld and become as one, so can hearts, but the melding of hearts is greater.
Melding with the soul that is God is the greatest melding there is.
The absence of melding with love is a melding with lovelessness, greed and lust. HOM
