The difference between becoming like God and becoming at-one with God is like night and day.
Becoming like God have been humanity's quest throughout every age; to reflect completely the Will and Power of the Creator in our lives.
Many yearn to tap the hidden potentials of their God-like nature.
For indeed we are all God's image, possessing a facsimile of all His Attributes and Attitudes.
The soul that return to the factual realization that they are indeed God's image, and yearn to come into harmony with the Will of God for their existence, will begin to purify.
As souls purify, they begin to exhibit more of their God-likeness; they begin to reflect more correctly the image of God that they were ment to be.
On the other hand, there are some souls who are becoming aware (resurrected) to the greater potential of becoming Divine by yearning for at-one-ment with God.
These souls yearn to be adopted and changed into the nature of God, not in likeness, but in Beingness.
However, those who do not know the truth about the resurrection, have mixed up God-likeness with at-one-ment.
It seems as if God has two different Wills (intents) for mankind, purity and Divinity. But it is only one Will, which is, to become at-one with Him in Essense (Substance).
It is we humans that respond to God's Will in two different ways.
Some of us interpret God's Will to mean that, we must become pure in order to become 'like God' (which we mistakenly think is the highest state of existence), while the rest of us interpret God's Will to mean we must become "New creatures," recreated by His Love if we are to become at-one with Him.
The latter will see the Celestial Heavens, but the former would not.
Becoming God-like, does not make a soul at-one with God, however, becoming at-one with God also makes a soul God-like. HOM
